The search was on for a man who failed to appear at his trial on sexual abuse charges in Muscatine County Court.

Jonathan Bucio-Gonzalez, 33, was scheduled to be tried starting Tuesday, November 12, 2013 for three counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

Court records show Bucio-Gonzalez was charged in late February 2013 and was released from jail when he posted 10% of his $50,000 bond in late March.

When a jury was deadlocked and could not return a verdict in his July 2013 trial, a mistrial was declared and the trial process in the case was begun again.

Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren said Bucio-Gonzalez failed to appear at his trial and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  His failure to appear also means he must forfeit his previously-posted bond.

Anyone with information about Bucio-Gonzalez or his location should contact Muscatine Police at (563) 263-9922.
