An Aledo, Illinois woman faces criminal charges after she allegedly stole money from the Mercer County Schools Athletic Booster Club.

Aledo Police Chief J. Michael Sponsler said 39-year-old Chastity M. Jackson was arrested Wednesday, October 23, 2013 on a warrant charging her with two counts of felony theft.

Various media reports say Jackson is accused of stealing from the Mercer County Schools Athletic Booster Club.  She was charged after an investigation which began in August.

Online court records indicate the amount of the theft was between $500 and $10,000, and that the incident happened in May 2013.

Sponsler said Jackson was released after she posted 10% of her $50,000 bond.  Her future court date was not yet set.
