After a ruling by a Wisconsin appeals court, a 13-year-old boy must register as a convicted sex offender on a private list.
According to a report by Fox 11 out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, after he was convicted in juvenile court for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl, the teenager must register as a sex offender.
According to the report, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections said that juveniles who register as sex offenders do “not appear on the website available to the general public.”
It is up to law enforcement to decide whether or not community notification is necessary, according to Klaas kids, a foundation aimed at stopping crimes against children.
