Davenport leaders will review an assignment agreement with developer Dan Kehl and the Isle of Capri Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

Developer Dan Kehl would like to buy the Rhythm City Casino and move it onto land, but city leaders have also reviewed local developer Rodney Blackwell's plan with Clairvest. They've proposed a $250 million casino near I-80 and I-74.

Kehl would like to build a $110 million casino near Veterans Memorial Parkway and Brady Street. The Isle of Capri is supposed to give the city $380,000 that they spent earlier on consultant work to try moving Rhythm City.

The city council has approved a development agreement with Kehl that they are waiting for him to sign, but they also have a 'plan B' with Blackwell. They could review Blackwell's plan if Kehl doesn't sign his. Tuesday, Kehl got a 10 day extension to buy Rhythm City.

Nothing will be approved at Wednesday's committee meeting, but the meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Davenport's City Hall. Kehl still wants to present his plans to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission in November.
