A man whose wrecked pickup truck was found Sunday, September 29, 2013 was found two days later in Louisa County, Iowa.

A man whose wrecked pickup truck was found Sunday, September 29, 2013 was found two days later in Louisa County, Iowa.

Deputies were sent to the scene of a severely damaged pickup truck on County Road X43 south of County Road 305 in rural Letts just before 7 p.m. Sunday, September 29.  They suspected 33-year-old Kevin Bunch was driving the truck at the time of the crash, but there was no sign of Mr. Bunch near the wrecked truck.

The next day, Bunch was officially deemed a missing person.  Searches for him were unsuccessful.

Louisa County Sheriff Brad Turner said his office got a call at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, reporting a man spotted close to the railroad tracks near 180th Street southwest of Letts, about a mile from the wrecked truck.  Emergency responders confirmed the man was Kevin Bunch.

Bunch was airlifted to a hospital in Iowa City.
