Hundreds of books are now on display in the Quad Cities in a way no ones ever experienced them before. The project is to give people a different view on art.
There's a wave of books at the Bucktown Center for the Arts. It's called "Title Wave".
"I think a lot of times people think art has to be hung on a wall and so we really wanted to expand the definition of what art was," said David Balluff, one of the artists who helped created the project.
It took artists two week to complete.
"Each book is hung individually and it means we had to tie it with string and then we had to tie it with wire and then we had to hang them," said Balluff.
People came out Friday, September 27, 2013 to see the masterpiece.
"I like it, it's awesome," said Elizabeth Hunt who came out to check out the artwork.
There's more than two thousand different books that people in the community donated.
"It's just nice to know that our family love of reading is part of a community project," said Janet Coogan, who donated.
A community project that gives a different view of art.
"We're sort of challenging people's notion what art is, and I think that's really important," said Balluff.
The exhibit will be up for a month then the artists will sell the books. That money will go towards the Bucktown Art Center.
