Investigators ask for public’s help after two homes burglarized

Investigators are asking for any information regarding two burglaries that were reported in Carroll County.

According to the Carroll County Crime Stoppers, two residences were burglarized on Saturday, September 21, 2013. The first reported burglary happened on Illinois Route 84, north of Savanna between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and the second was in Thomson between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Officials say subjects forced entry into both residences.

In the first reported burglary, a large safe that had money and personal documents was stolen. The value of the damages and stolen property is over $1,000, according to the Crime Stoppers. The home owner was not home at the time.

In the second reported burglary jewelry was stolen. Damages and stolen property is more than $7,000. The homeowners were not home at the time of the burglary.
