Updated: 2 hurt when car overturns near Long Grove

Two people were reportedly hospitalized after a car overturned on Highway 61 near the Long Grove exit.

The crash was reported just before 10 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013.

The crash appeared to involve a single vehicle that overturned and came to rest in the ditch along the southbound lanes of Highway 61.  Police said 69-year-old Curtis White of Clinton, Iowa was driving when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.

State Police said no other vehicles were involved.

Emergency vehicles blocked some lanes of traffic on Highway 61.

Police said Curtis White was airlifted by helicopter ambulance to a hospital.  Jacqueline White, 65, was taken by ground ambulance to an area hospital.

Police said both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
