Davenport teen accused of stealing over $500 worth of purses

A Davenport teen faces criminal charges in connection with her alleged attempt to steal purses from a Coralville department store.

Jasmine Crawford, 18, was held in the Johnson County, Iowa Jail after she was arrested Monday, August 19, 2013.

The Daily Iowan reports Crawford was accused of taking $536 worth of purses from a rack inside the Dillard’s store at Coral Ridge Mall.  She allegedly made it out of the first set of doors at a store entrance without paying for the purses.

Crawford faced a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft.
