Bettendorf Police said they captured an Illinois man wanted for shooting another man in the face in Lasalle County, Illinois.

Richard Felton, 28, of Tonica, Illinois is accused of shooting 28-year-old Jeremy Wade in the face Sunday evening, August 18, 2013.  The two men were on the Sandy Ford Bridge east of Lenore at the time of the shooting, and Wade fell from the bridge into the Vermilion River.  Wade then crawled out of the river and was able to get to a nearby farm to get help.

Felton was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A statement from Bettendorf Police said officers on patrol spotted Felton’s vehicle, with him as a passenger and a woman driving, at 18th and State streets just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2013.  A few hours prior, Bettendorf Police had been alerted that Felton might be in their city.

Bettendorf Police pulled over the vehicle and arrested Felton without incident.

Felton was held in the Scott County Jail to await extradition to LaSalle County where his bond was set at $3-million.
