Rock Island teen becomes youngest Volunteer of the Year.

Allison Foster, a 14-year-old Rock Island High School student was awarded the title of Volunteer of the Year from WQPT- Quad Cities PBS, according to a spokesperson.

Foster was presented the award by WQPT’s General Manager, Mary Pruess, and WQPT’s Special Projects Coordinator, Bea Brasel, at a breakfast celebration Wednesday, August 7, 2013.  “Allison became involved with WQPT as a member of our Kids Club. As the years have gone by, Allison has continued as a volunteer, including becoming our ‘go-to’ talent for costume characters,” said Brasel.

She said over 7,000 volunteers have helped out with various events at WQPT.
