This one is an event for the strong-arms at the 2nd annual Arm Wrestling Tournament in Orion, Illinois.
Hillcrest Event Center hosted the event on Sunday, August 4, 2013. All men and women who wanted to compete and those who just want to watch are were welcome.
The three weight classes are 80 – 170-pounds, 171 – 200-pounds, and 201-pounds and up. Competitors were required to pay a $10 entry fee.
The competition started with interviews and weigh-ins at noon.
The event center was filming the event for their television show, “American Armwrestling” and crews from “ArmSportsTV” will film as well.
There were 13 competitors in the tournament, two in the lightweight class, three in the middle weight, six in the heavyweight and two in the women’s class.
Four winners were crowned —
- Art Depoorter — East Moline — first place in the lightweight competition
- Jeremy Welsh — Kewanee — first place in the middleweight and left-handed middle weight divisions
- Chris Hintgen — Colona — first place in heavyweight and left-handed heavyweight divisions
- Tyann Hintgen — Colona — first place in the women’s division
