While Iowa went into day two of its Tax Free Holiday, Illinois had its own way to stay competitive across the river.
A fashion show was held at SouthPark Mall in Moline on Saturday, August 3, 2013. The show was to showcase the latest fall fashions for the new school year, and bring some more shoppers to the mall.
"We do the tax free weekend at NorthPark and then for SouthPark and the Moline city we try to combat the tax free weekend,” said Aleshia Chiesa, marketing manager.
Aeropostale, Maurices, and Four Seasons participated in the show. A spokesperson from SouthPark Mall said organizers plan to have the event again next year.
