Before I headed off for some well-needed vacation last week, I wanted to make a visit to Camp Sacajawea off the Cedar River in Muscatine County. Very remote and extremely peaceful. I always enjoyed my moments at summer camp because it gave me the chance to develop great skills so that I can come home and impress my family and friends.
The theme for this year’s day camp was “Twisting Down The Yellow Brick Road” where all 72 scouts welcomed the adventure in learning new games, crafts, workshops and the importance of friendship.
Summer camp can be a great experience as long as the weather cooperates. My role was explaining to them the importance of weather safety and preparation at camp or no matter where you may be. What I wasn’t prepared for was my own Camp t-shirt that was autographed by all the scouts! HOW COOL!!!! Check it out!!
