Through a scavenger hunt and other games, kids found treasures and learned a little more about the library in Eldridge, Iowa.

Program organizers arranged pirate-themed activities including a treasure hunt and a chance for participants to make a pirate hat.  A pirate-themed movie was also part of the day’s fun.

“We’ve encouraged all the kids to come in their costumes and have fun with it,” said youth services librarian Christine Garrow.  “I think it will definitely encourage kids to come back to the library.”

The Eldridge branch is part of the Scott County Library system, which plans creative, educational and story-time activities for patrons throughout the year.  Get more information on locations, dates and times for upcoming events – click here.
