A young girl drowned at a pool in Mount Pleasant, officials say.
According to the Mount Pleasant Police, on Friday, July 19, 2013, police were called to the Mount Pleasant Aquatic Center for a possible drowning around 6 p.m.
Officials say, as police arrived, lifeguards were performing CPR on a 7-year-old girl, who was transported to the Henry County Health Center via ambulance. She was later pronounced dead.
The drowning appears to be accidental, according to police, and no foul play is suspected. An investigation ongoing.
