Girls ages 8-13 set up a cupcake stand at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Ju;y 17, 2013 for a group called Cupcakes for Cancer.

The non-profit organization was started in 2007 by 13-year-old Blakely Colvin, who is 18 now.

Colvin, a chemo survivor, started the project because she wanted to help a fellow classmate who was going through chemotherapy.

In four-years the organization has raised $95,000. As Cupcakes for Cancer grew, they began donating money to charities like the Make-A-Wish Foundation,The TeddyBear Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara- an organization which provides emotional and financial support  to families with children battling cancer, and to CureSearch-a national pediatric cancer research organization.
