After numerous appearances on the show, Jenny McCarthy will reportedly be a new permanent member of ‘The View.’

ABC News reported Barbara Walters announced the addition to the panel of hosts Monday, July 15, 2013.  The announcement came less than a week after Walters said they planned to take their time replacing Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who was leaving the show to work for Fox News.

Walters previously announced her upcoming retirement.  Co-host Joy Behar has also announced she is leaving the show.

“Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor,” Walters said. “She can be serious and outrageous.  She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view.”

“I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy, 40, is an author, actress and former Playboy model.  She grew up in Chicago.
