A Davenport man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after he confessed to downloading thousands of images of child pornography.

As a result of an undercover operation, investigators searched the Davenport, Iowa home of Anthony Conklin, 36 on April 12, 2011.  Forensic investigators determined Conklin’s computer had been used for more than eight years to download at least 8,000 images and 688 videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.  Prosecutors said investigators also seized “numerous articles of children’s clothing and underwear” from Conklin’s home.

Prosecutors said Conklin admitted to sending sexually-explicit images of himself to others online, and to chatting with minors who sent him sexually-explicit images of themselves.

Conklin was sentenced in federal court June 27, 2013 to 240 months in prison.  After serving his prison sentence, Conklin will be required to serve ten years of supervised release.
