Galesburg, Illinois experienced major flooding in late May 2013, causing extreme damage to Carl Sandburg College.

During the week of June 24, the college president lowered the damage estimation from $500,000 to $300,000.

Since the campus was not declared a disaster area, all repairs are being done without Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance.
