Rock Island School District approved for grant

The Rock Island School District has been approved to receive a grant of up to $6 million.

At an Illinois State Board of Education meeting Wednesday and Thursday, June 19 and 20, 2013, grants for four Illinois schools were approved, according to page 32 of the meeting’s agenda packet.

The board’s goals for the four recipients are for all students to succeed academically and after graduation as well as for each student to have the support of faculty and staff members as they go through school.

These School Improvement Grants are made available front the U.S. Department of Education to state education agencies.
