Two families celebrated the groundbreaking of their new homes.

Volunteers gathered at a Habitat for Humanity groundbreaking on Saturday, June 15, 2013.

One of the house recipients, Magen Mlekush, said she and her two daughters will be able to move into their house in six or seven months.

According to a spokesperson from the organization, Mlekush has been earning sweat equity hours over the last year. Mlekush said each level of hours you earn as a volunteer gets you a step further in the process.

The Mlekush family house is sponsored by the Moline Foundation.
