Two Iowa high school students receive educational scholarships

Madison Ruge, Bettendorf High School and Paul Conway, Pleasant Valley High School

Recipients for the Carl D. Shillig Memorial Fund, Inc. scholarship have been announced.

Madison Ruge from Bettendorf High School and Paul Conway from Pleasant Valley High School were announced as the recipients of 2013.

The $4,000 scholarship is awarded to one Bettendorf and one Pleasant Valley High School student with at least a 2.3 GPA and to students who exemplify Carl’s spirit through involvement in school, community, and church related activities.

Conway plans to attend the University of Iowa and Ruge plans to attend Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The scholarship fund began in 1998 and has since awarded 28 Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley High School students with educational scholarships.
