Police: Teen busted two blocks from gas station he allegedly robbed

Police said they found a teenage robbery suspect at a home two blocks from the Burlington, Iowa gas station he reportedly robbed.

Police said they found a teenage robbery suspect at a home two blocks from the Burlington, Iowa gas station he reportedly robbed.

Officers were sent to a reported robbery at the Gasland at 1003 Summer Street just after 2 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013.  The store clerk reported being robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled on foot.

“During the course of the investigation, Detectives with the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 800-block of South 13th Street,” according to a statement from Burlington Police.

Diavontae Stepphon Davis, 18, of Burlington, was arrested.

Davis was charged with felony second-degree robbery.

Davis was held in the Des Moines County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
