Road construction around the Quad City area begins Monday

In Moline, Avenue of the Cities from 41st Street to 43rd Street and 41st Street from 22nd Ave. to 24th Ave. will each be down to one lane due to resurfacing.

Flaggers will be there at times to direct traffic. Patterns will change on a regular basis. Business entrances will stay open. According to the City of Moline, work is scheduled to be completed by August 9, 2013 and roads are expected to stay open.

The Illinois Department of Transportation said an eastbound lane will be closed on I-80, south of the Colona exit in Henry County.

The closed lane will be in the passing lane of the bridge over the IAIS Railroad. Crews will be making bridge repairs. The closure will begin Monday at 9 a.m. and should be open again on Thursday by noon.

In Clinton, Manufacturing Drive from South 19th Street to South 21st Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday.

According to the City of Clinton, traffic will be detoured via Lincoln Way. The project is expected to be complete by 5:30 p.m. the same day.

In Bettendorf, the northbound outside lane of Devils Glen Road will be closed to traffic at various locations from Belmont Road to the north entrance of Crow Creek Park starting June 10th.

The Bettendorf Public Works Department said crews will be constructing a ten-foot-wide concrete trail in the boulevard. Between the north entrance to the park and the entrance to the Pleasant Valley Community School District office, the Bettendorf Municipal Maintenance Center, and the Post Office will be the first part of the construction project.

Work will continue southward to Belmont Road. The project will continue into September.

In Linn County, Iowa construction work will begin Monday at the intersection of Iowa 1 and U.S. 30 in Mount Vernon.

The south leg of the intersection will be closed, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Iowa 1 traffic will be detoured around the construction zone until roughly October 15, said Mount Vernon City Engineer, Dan Boggs.

Northbound drivers at the intersection of Iowa 1 and Rachel Street will travel southeast on Rachel Street to Virgil Drive, northeast on U.S. 30 and then west to Iowa 1.

Drivers traveling southbound at the intersection of Iowa 1 and U.S. 30 will travel east on U.S. 30 to Virgil Drive, southwest on Virgil Drive to Rachel Street, and then northwest on Rachel Street to Iowa 1.

All drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through construction zones and to obey posted speed limit signs and others in the work areas.
