Janet Wiebler has lived on West Garfield and Western in Davenport for 21 years but she says her basement flooded for the first time last month and now has again.

“It’s supposed to rain all week,” Janet says.  “So all week now I’ve got to set my alarm for every two hours to make sure that I don’t need my sump pumps going.”

With no flood insurance, the Davenport resident says she is still cleaning up from the 3 feet of water that rushed in before.

Janet is calling the issue unfair because she claims the City of Davenport has attempted to knowing what has caused the problem and still not taking care of it.

There is an overloaded storm drain at the end of the street that is pumping water throughout the neighborhood.

Janet said her neighbors have gone to the city but they haven't gotten the answers they want.

She says the city told her that they can’t afford to redo it and they won’t have the money for this project for 3 to 10 years.

“I know there is a lot of people that have lived for 30 years and never had a problem so they need to figure it out and move forward,” Janet says.  “Fix it.”

We were unable to get a hold of anyone at with the city of Davenport for their response.
