Traffic was stopped on I-80 in Cedar County after a semi-truck’s tire caught fire.
The incident happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, and caused a hazard to westbound traffic, according to the Iowa State Police.
Police said both westbound lanes were closed until the fire department was able to put out the semi fire.
One lane reopened until crews cleared the scene. Both lanes were reopened around 7:30 a.m., officials said.
No injuries were reported.
