The father of an 8-year-old boy who took a gun to an Iowa elementary school now faces criminal charges.
The gun was discovered at Lawson Elementary School in Johnston, Iowa just before noon Tuesday, May 7, 2013. The gun was confiscated and police were called.
Investigators said the boy took the gun from his home. Police reportedly confiscated other weapons from the home because they were not properly secured.
Louis Friestad, 31, was charged with one count of child endangerment/neglect and one count of making a weapon available to someone under 21.
