A suspicious letter in the mailroom resulted in the evacuation of part of Mayflower Hall on the campus of the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

A spokesman for the university said a letter leaking a white, powdery substance was discovered in the hall’s mailroom just before 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013.
