Many events in Iowa’s annual Tulip Festival in Pella were cancelled because of the area’s unseasonal snowfall, but the Tulip-spirit was still in the air.

While prepping for the festival, a snow plow cleared the Pella Motor car dealership‘s parking lot while pulling a train of spirited people in wooden shoes.

According to Pella Tulip Time’s announcements, on the evening of Saturday, May 4 the stage performance, Street Scrubbing, and Dutch Dancing were cancelled, but the evening parade performed as scheduled.

Indoor activities still took place over the weekend, but Friday’s stage show and parade were cancelled.

Tulip-lovers were still able to support the organization by purchasing a Pella Tulip Time supper, according to the organization’s Facebook page.
