Member of Davenport Police Department receives award

A member of the Davenport Police Department received an award for outstanding performance on the job.

Corporal Andrew Harris was named the Police Officer of the Year by the Davenport Noon Optimist Club. Harris received the Respect for Law Award on Friday, May 3, 2013.

Harris was chosen as the recipient for his dedication, performance, and of course- optimism.

Mayor Bill Gluba and Police Chief Francis Donchez were in attendance and spoke about the Davenport law enforcement.

This was the 35th year the award has been presented by the club.
