Local companies were represented at a Career Fair in Bettendorf.

Scott Community College held its annual Career Fair on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the school’s Belmont Campus.

More than 40 local companies were represented at the event. The companies had booths set up ready to speak with unemployed people looking for work.

"You get to interact with people, face to face," said SCC senior, Carnette Armstrong. "I think its better. You know interact with people, get some feedback. You learn more about the company."

Students from Pleasant Valley and Bettendorf High Schools were invited to get a jump on networking with potential future employers.

The event was free and open to the public.
