I did something yesterday that I haven’t done in a long time. I was a little worried about it thinking I might regret it later in the day but I decided to stick to my decision. It felt weird but rewarding. Would people look at me differently? I decided not to wear a jacket on Monday. Baby steps.
Temperatures climbed to around 70 degrees on Monday but a cold front brought us back down into the 30s and 40s today. I was obligated to put my coat back on as I headed out the door. I knew it was raining and would continue to rain off and on through the afternoon but I had had enough of these extra accessories. I left the umbrella at home. As long as it wasn’t pouring, I convinced myself that I could run to my car and into work without melting.
With the next couple of days expected to be dry and in the low 50s, I will certainly consider wearing a jacket but I won’t like it.
Rest assured that the jacket will be hanging in the back of my closet this weekend with highs trending warmer in the 60s. It’s about time!
