(CNN) — A Wisconsin college is back to normal after police seized a man seen carrying a gun.

Carroll University in Waukesha issued a lockdown Tuesday morning after a report of a gunman on campus and told students to stay indoors.

Later police took the person into custody. It is not known at this time what kind of gun the suspect allegedly had been carrying.

The school lifted the temporary lockdown per instructions of city and campus police and said afternoon classes were to resume.
