To keep the fire service top-notch for its city, the Colona Fire Department held a delicious fundraiser.

The semi-annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 14 accepted donations from community residents in exchange for all an all you can eat breakfast.

The money raised goes toward the purchase of new equipment for the department. The goal is to buy a thermal imaging camera.

“They record the temperature we’re going in and also the contrast of temperatures,” said Colona Fire Chief, John Swan. “It would also help us look for victims besides the fire and the temperatures.”
