Bettendorf crews responded to a structure fire Wednesday morning.

It happened at about 5:30 in the 6600 block of Eagle Ridge Road. That is in the Highland Green neighborhood, just to the east of the Crow Valley Golf Course.

Fire crews tell us that a lightning strike hit the house. First responders saw flames coming out of the home, but crews were able to put out the fire quickly.

Crews say the fire started in the attic, but there were no injuries to report. Paramedics say the family had escaped the home by the time they got there.

The Rock Island Arsenal and Riverdale Fire Departments responded to the scene as well. Crews left the area by 7 a.m.
