QC Coin Club educates kids at annual show

The QC Coin Club had their annual spring show on Sunday, and kids got a few perks.

Upon entry, kids were let in for free. At a youth auction kids were given play money so they could improve their bidding skills.

“A lot of them have been to this two or three times now and have learned that we take bids in ten dollar increments so they don’t all jump in and say $200 right off the bat,” said Event Coordinator, John Brixey. “They find out that they can get more than just one thing then.”

Dealers from all over brought hundreds of coins for collectors to comb-through. Some coins were new, others hundreds of years old.

The Coin Club has been in the Quad Cities for more 76 years.
