A Camanche, Iowa woman pleaded guilty to felony theft in connection with more than $10,000 missing from a student government association bank account.

Stacy Powers, 28, was placed on administrative leave in April 2012 from her job as a student development and activities coordinator.  She was formally charged in January 2013 with first-degree theft and tampering with records.

Powers had oversight of the bank account for the university’s Student Government Association, from which she made unauthorized withdrawals and debit card transactions for personal use.

Powers pleaded guilty Thursday, April 4, 2013 to first-degree theft.  In exchange for her plea, the tampering with records charge will be dismissed.

Court records show sentencing was scheduled for May 9, 2013.
