Construction on IL-84 will begin Monday, April 1, bringing traffic down to one lane.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday that work will begin near the south edge of Cordova on IL-84, weather permitting.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane using temporary traffic signals.
Workers with the Brandt Construction Company will be replacing the culvert just south of 157th Avenue North. The structure will be replaced one half at a time.
The $508,000 contract is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.
Drivers are reminded to drive slowly and carefully through all construction zones.
