Woman assaulted during Davenport robbery

A female worker was reportedly assaulted when a man robbed the Express Check in west Davenport.

The robbery was reported just after 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at Express Check Cashing and Payday Loan, 427 North Division Street in Davenport, Iowa.

Initial reports indicated the suspect wore a mask over his face and employees believed he was armed when he robbed the business.  Police later said no weapon was displayed.

The suspect allegedly punched a woman working at the business during the robbery.  The woman suffered injuries to her face and she was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.  Police said her injuries were minor.

The suspect remained at large after he reportedly left the business on foot.  He got away with an undetermined amount of cash.
