A man from rural Galesburg faces a weapons charge after complaints to police that dogs were being shot in his neighborhood.

Warren County deputies arrested James Davis, 41, after they served a search warrant at his rural Galesburg home in Warren County, Illinois on Monday evening, March 18, 2013.

Police said the search warrant was the result of their investigation into complaints of dogs being shot in Davis’ neighborhood.

Police said they seized several weapons and ammunition during the search.  They charged Davis with unlawful use of possession of a weapon by a felon.  The charge is a class 3 felony.

Davis was released from the Warren County Jail the day after his arrest when his $50,000 bond was posted.
