Everyone lost an hour of sleep from the Daylight Saving Time change, but for those who struggle with their sleep patterns regularly there is help in sight.

Genesis Sleep Disorders Center hosted an open house Sunday to show their new equipment.

Staff members from Genesis Home Medical Equipment were available at the center’s location in Davenport. They showed new CPAP equipment used to treat sleep apnea. People with sleep questions were able to speak with board-certified specialists.

“We know there’s a large number of patients out there that are not even aware they are having a sleep problem,” said sleep technologist, Michele Linhart. “There are so many different types and versions of sleep that people diagnose themselves with.”

The Sleep Disorders Center at Genesis Medical Center treats excessive daytime sleepiness, narcolepsy, apnea, insomnia, sleepwalking, and childhood sleep problems.

Other sleep programs are located in DeWitt, Silvis, Maquoketa and Aledo.
