Head-on crash kills 2 in Jo Daviess County

Two men died after their vehicles collided head-on on U.S. 20 in Jo Daviess County, Illinois.

The crash was reported at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

Police said Bob Haug, 71, of Elizabeth, Illinois was driving westbound a half-mile east of West Glen Hollow Road when his vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by 82-year-old Richard Kerstein of Galena.

Both men were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Galena where they died from their injuries.

Clyde Laughlin, 80, of Galena, was a passenger in Kerstein’s vehicle.  Laughlin was hospitalized for treatment of his injuries.
