Police: Pair busted for trying to sell stolen goods to scrap yard

Two Whiteside County men were charged with burglary after they reportedly tried to get cash for items stolen from a Sterling business.

Two Whiteside County men were charged with burglary after they reportedly tried to get cash for items stolen from a Sterling business.

Terry Gibbs, 35, of Rock Falls and Steven Argraves, 40, of Sterling, are accused of breaking into a business in rural Sterling, Illinois Tuesday night, January 22, 2013.  Police said the men stole several items and took those items to a scrap yard for cash. 

The men each face one count of felony burglary.  Gibbs was also charged with one count of felony theft.

Both men were arraigned on their charges Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Whiteside County Court. 

Bot men remained in the Whiteside County Jail.  Gibbs was held in lieu of $75,000 bond and Argraves was held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
