Train and tractor collide near Joslin

A train reportedly struck a tractor-trailer on railroad tracks near the entrance of Tyson Food in Joslin, Illinois.

Initial reports indicated the rig was westbound on Highway 92 when it was struck by a train at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 as it crossed the Burlington Northern tracks.  The trailer portion of the rig was struck.

Railroad traffic in the area was stopped as emergency crews worked the crash.   

As a result of the accident, a power line fell on top of the tractor-trailer.  Mid-American crews were called to the scene to move the line in order for the tractor-trailer to be moved safely.  No power outages were reported in the area of the crash.

No injuries were reported.
