Photos: Fire destroys Rock Falls warehouse

Firefighters battled brutal cold to fight fire at a warehouse along U.S. Route 30 in Rock Falls, Illinois.

The fire was reported at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at a warehouse building in the 800 block of East Rock Falls Road.

Tim Burks said he smelled smoke and immediately rushed to save his truck from the burning building, then he left the rest of his own belongings inside to help save a friend’s belongings instead.  Burks said he lost motorcycles, boats and other belongings in the fire.

No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
