The FBI, customs and homeland security investigators are investigating after 18 human heads packaged in coolers were found at O’Hare Airport.

WGN reports the heads were embalmed and had been shipped from Rome before Christmas.  They have been held by customs because their final destination, thought to be a research facility in the United States, was not clearly indicated on paperwork accompanying the shipment.

No one had come forward yet to claim the heads.  If no one claims them, the medical examiner said they would be buried in Cook County, Illinois.
