The medical examiner says the death of a Dixon, Illinois woman found in her home was caused by “manual strangulation.”

The medical examiner says the death of a Dixon, Illinois woman found in her home was caused by “manual strangulation.”

The ruling came Tuesday, January 15, 2013 after an autopsy of 34-year-old Yolanda Sigler.

Yolanda’s body was discovered after police were called Sunday, January 13 to the home on Lincolnway she shared with her 34-year-old husband, Brian Sigler.

Police said they think Brian Sigler killed Yolanda before stabbing himself several times with a knife.  Police described his wounds as “numerous” and “significant.”

Brian Sigler was in intensive care and under police watch at a local hospital.
