Jobs in the military, public safety and journalism are on this year’s list of the most stressful jobs in America.  Some medical positions and college professor are among the least stressful jobs.

The study factored eleven job requirements that contribute job stress including the amount of travel required, growth potential, deadlines, working in the public eye, competitiveness, physical demands, environmental conditions, hazards encountered, whether the position puts your own life a risk, whether the position involves the lives of others at risk, and requirements of meeting the public.

CareerCast.com least stressful jobs of 2013:  

University/college professor (median salary $62,050 and stress score 6.45)

Seamstress/Tailor (median salary $25,850 and stress score 6.5)

Medical Records Technician (median salary $32,350 and stress score 7.5)

Jeweler (median salary $35,170 and stress score of 8.26)

Medical laboratory technician (median salary $46,680 and stress score 9.28)

Audiologist (median salary $66,660 and stress score 9.35)

Dietitian (median salary $53,250 and stress score 10.24)

Hairstylist (median salary $22,500 and stress score 10.41)
