A lot of us would likely struggle with what to say to someone who saved our life.
That was the case for Eric Burge, whom we met at the Circle Tap in Davenport on Saturday.
Because of a genetic disorder, Eric is in need of a kidney.
Luckily, his sister-in-law, Mary Beth, is willing to donate her kidney to give Eric the gift of life.
The tight-knit family threw a surprise fundraising party for Eric to help offset the medical costs for his and Mary Beth’s surgery on January 3rd.
"I wish I could find the words to tell them how much they mean to me and how important they’ve been in my life," said Burge.
